Lower Lea Valley Memorial

Second year installation project.

Located in Trinity Bouy Wharf, East London, the temporary installation expresses the changes that the future development of the Lower lea Valley region because of the Olympic Games would cause. Earth collected from the 15 areas in the Lower Lea Valley regeneration plan would be used to create a rammed earth wall with the areas that would face the greatest changes having a greater ratio. The earth wall would be slowly eroded by rainwater collected by a roof canopy. The Earth wall would form a temporary inhabitable space with openings and a separate walkway that would facilitate the direct interaction of visitors. The roof of the walkway would collect rain water that would erode the earth wall.
